Scott’s Scenic Spectacular - The Snowman Run - Sunday the 5th of February.

12 cold Clanners (in nine Minis) met at Balloch to begin the run.
We were all a bit concerned about the roads as there was some really bad ice at home, but they turned out to be fine. It wasn’t what you’d call a lovely day weather-wise, but it wasn’t too bad considering it’s winter!

We began by heading north to Inverbeg, then crossing west to take in Coulport (where we drove alongside an enormous aircraft carrier), Kilcreggan, Rosneath and Garelochhead.
Then we went east, back to Loch Lomondside, and back west again on some more outstanding roads.
There were a few stops for a stretch and a look around.
The final part of the trip took us south through Rhu and Helensburgh and off for a lovely lunch at the Ardarden Estate. Sadly Jim and Angie’s car had problems and they had to head home early. Phil’s car also had a wee problem, but Rab used his eagle-eyes, spotted the problem and sorted things out to let Phil continue.

A cracking first run of the year, so thanks to Scott Drennan for arranging it all and also to all the Clanners who came for the day out!

We at the miniclan are delighted to announce that the 2016 Thistle Run has raised a record-breaking £8000 for the charities, CLAPA and RNLI Anstruther.

Thank you to everyone who attended and contributed so generously to the event, and also to all of our volunteers who have spent months planning and organising the day to make it go as smoothly as possible.
