ImageThistle Run 2008, our 9th annual event, we our biggest and best run yet! Overall we have 241 Minis registered by 11am on the day and for the day Thistle Runners raised £7141.52 for our charities. This allowed the Thistle Run to donate £3570.76 to the Anstruther RNLI and £1785.38 to the two charities being supported by Clanner Stuart Stapely on his Karma Ednurance Rally; The Rainbow Trust and the Adventure Ashram Trust (India).

On the Sunday 25th May we returned to the original route from 2000; from the central belt to Fife.

We had an amazing  start at the Falkirk Wheel, who provided some superb hospitality for us and every Thistle Runner agreed that it was an excellent start for the run.

As with every year the Thistle Run provided a great run pack full of sponsors goodies, including a copy Mini World, biscuits and Scots Porridge Oats(!).

As the runners set off from the Wheel towards the picturesque Fife harbour town of Anstruther they were 'greeted' by 3 fair mermaids and their fishy escort for the Thistle Run mugging.

The route was then over the Forth and up into Stirlingshire and Perthshire before the Thistle runners headed east into the Kingdom of Fife towards Anstruther.

Upon arrival the Thistle Run dominated the middle and east piers as well as the main car park. The sun shone and the ice cream and fish and chips were enjoyed.

The day ended with the annual prize giving for the show'n'shine and you can see the winners below.

One final thanks goes to both Mini World and Mini Magazine for coming and joining us on the day and giving great write-ups in their magazines.
